Your wedding dress should feel as beautiful as it looks. Sira brings more than 35 years of bridal design experience to each fitting, with careful attention to comfort, movement, and the details that made you fall in love with your gown.

Wedding dress alterations are available at our Winter Park atelier, serving Orlando and Central Florida, and in the Reading Bridal District, serving Cincinnati-area brides. Gowns purchased elsewhere are welcome.

Wedding dress alterations, thoughtfully tailored

• Hem and bustle: Adjust the length for your wedding shoes and create a bustle suited to your gown and train.

• Bodice and fit: Refine the bust, waist, straps, or sleeves, with resizing options assessed during your fitting.

• Closures and support: Adjust zippers, buttons, and corset backs where the gown’s construction allows.

• Lace and finishing: Repair or reposition lace, appliqués, and beadwork with attention to the original design.

• Personal touches: Explore sleeves, coverage, neckline changes, train alterations, or an heirloom redesign.

What to expect at your fitting

1. Share your plans. Tell us your wedding date, preferred location, and the changes you have in mind. Photos of your gown are helpful.

2. Review the fit together. Bring your dress, wedding shoes, and the undergarments you plan to wear. Sira will assess the gown and explain the proposed alterations.

3. Plan the finishing details. Discuss the scope, estimate, timing, and any further fittings needed for your dress.

Planning your bridal alterations

When should I schedule my first fitting?

When possible, arrange your first fitting 2 to 3 months before your wedding. Contact us earlier for extensive lace or beadwork, major resizing, or redesign. Rush requests depend on the work required and appointment availability.

How much do wedding dress alterations cost?

The cost depends on your gown’s construction, layers, embellishments, and the changes needed. Contact Sira with photos and your wedding date to discuss your dress; an individual assessment is needed for an accurate estimate.

Can you alter a dress I bought somewhere else?

Yes. We welcome wedding dresses purchased from other boutiques or designers, as well as heirloom gowns. The options for each dress are reviewed individually.
